You're obviously not a New Yorker, so you couldn't possibly understand what I mean. But in other Manhattan neighborhoods there was a branch of my bank at least every 5 blocks.

I understand the point of this story. I was a longtime resident of a mostly minority neighborhood in NYC. I had to walk at least 15 blocks to the nearest branch of my bank.

Aggravated felony=deportation straight from prison. This guy was let out of prison and under state supervision which says that he is most likely a US citizen. In a lot of cases, a DUI is not considered an aggravated felony, so no, those people are not deported.

Why do all of you automatically assume he's here illegally, just because he has a Spanish surname? My first guess would be that he's not only here legally, but a US citizen.... after being convicted of and serving time for kidnapping, he would have been deported were he not a US citizen.

How soon people forget..... Wasn't it CHRISTIAN teetotalers that had the US Constitution amended to prohibit the manufacture and sale of alcohol from about 1920-1933? Aren't there still some places in the US where the sale of alcohol is prohibited?

NYC is one of the most populated areas in the United States. Nothing short of the "blizzard of the century" would cause business as usual to stop here.
